Mission
Our Mission & Vision
Children learn by discovery. They discover ideas on their own, if given the right environment and tools. Confidence and self esteem grow from this process of observation and discovery. The Montessori method combines mixed-age classes with a carefully prepared environment of learning materials and flexible daily experiences. Highly qualified teachers and assistants facilitate the learning process by directing the children toward meaningful activity through which they discover and develop their interests and abilities and experience the outcomes of their choices. Special emphasis is placed on respect for self, for others, and for the physical environment.

Since 2008, FDMA has educated students, preparing them for higher education and a life engaged in learning.
In the Montessori educational tradition, FDMA is committed to high academic standards, coupled with a commitment to the artistic, physical, social, and emotional growth of our students. Our teachers know each child, help them choose learning activities that stretch their potential and give them the independence they desire. They learn to love the thrill of learning.
The intellectual journey is at the heart of the FDMA experience. We believe children learn by doing, and we use inquiry as a driver for learning. This emphasis crosses disciplines—from science to history to math and beyond. Our goal is to develop habits of work and habits of mind in our students to prepare them for the world they will be entering.
